WILLIAM GARRY DOUYON
Born in Port-au-Prince on October 11, 1970. He took his primary and secondary studies at Saint Louis de Gonzague School. He graduated with a degree in architectural engineering in 1996 from the Faculty of Sciences of the "Université d'Etat d'Haiti" at Port-au-Prince. Garry began to draw at a very early age, encouraged by his father, who is a painter. From 1977 to 1989 he took drawing classes with a teacher whose diploma was from the "Ecole des Beaux Arts" in Montreal, Gilberte Carrie. She taught him pencil and charcoal technique. He began once again from 1982 to 1986, and in 1987 he decided to work in pastels, the medium which has become his material of choice. Garry paints in acrylic as well. His style varies from the figurative to the abstract by way of surrealism. Return
