Herve Lebreton

Well-rounded artist born in Port-au-Prince, Haïti, on March 27, 1941. He is at once a singer, composer, guitarist, dancer and painter. He has released eighteen singles and four LPs. The singer has performed in Mexico, Chile, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Panama, Argentina, Haïti, the U.S. and Canada.

At age nine, he studied art and painting. He pursued his training at the School of Fine Arts in Port-au-Prince, then at the ABC School in Paris and at the Bellas Artes in Santiago, Chile.

Lebreton moved to Canada in 1970,where today he writes and paints. He has a passion for the arts and analytic psychology, and he has been able to develop a universal potential that allows him to paint canvases through which each individual can visualize his own achievement.

His style could be described as neo-or para-surrealist with a prevailing dreamlike quality. His works have often been showcased in solo or group exhibitions at many venues, including Nader’s Gallery in Haïti, the Limited Art Gallery in New York, Man and his World in Montreal, the Museum of Modern Art in Santo Domingo, the Museum of Fine Arts in Shreveport (Louisiana), the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts and the National Pantheon Museum in Haiti. His works are also part of several major collections in Europe, the U.S., and Central and South America.
